Cookie Policy

We use cookies to help us customise your experience. We use third-party cookies from the likes of Google and Facebook to personalise your user experience and to show you relevant advertising outside of this website, for example in Facebook or via the Google Ad network. We also use our own cookies (first-party) for things like keeping your registration active (so you don’t need to enter your username and password on every single visit).

Cookies are set for this specific domain. Only the owner of a domain can read the cookies associated to that domain. Therefore, we can’t read any cookie that hasn’t been set by us. Specifically, by using our own cookies, we don’t advertise products to you based on your browser history.

So, what are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored and/ or read by the browser (for example, Internet Explorer or Safari) on your computer or mobile phone. They allow websites to store things like user preferences (e.g. login, location selection) and to send that information back to the originating website (first-party cookie) or to another website that owns the cookie (third-party cookie) when you return to the website on the same end device.

What third party cookies do we use?

We use Google Analytics, an analytics service provided by Google, Inc. The information stored in the cookie is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States and then used to evaluate visitors’ use of our website and to compile statistical reports on website activity for us.

For more information on Google Analytics cookie usage and how to deactivate them, please visit their website.

We use Google Maps API. We use it when we place a map of the cinema you are visiting, or for enabling the widget that allows you to search for cinemas or movies on a particular location.

We use Google Adwords to show you advertising tailored to your interests. To control your ad personalization settings please visit this link

We use Facebook Conversion Pixel, an analytics service provided by Facebook, Inc. This allows us to track those visitors who have been referred through a Facebook page, application or advertisement and then contacted us through this website. We will share information regarding your visit to our website with Facebook but this will not include any information specific to our application or other personal information. Facebook will use this information to monitor on our behalf the effectiveness of our advertising and applications.

For more information on Facebook Conversion cookie usage, please visit their website.

What cookies of our own do we use?

We use a cookie called JSESSIONID to store information about your session state, so when you browse several pages from our site, they all know things like what cinema have you previously selected, what movie, or how many adult tickets you want to buy.

Depending on our current load, we may use several front end machines to serve our content. We use a cookie called AWSELB so our load balancer remembers what specific front end machine you are using, so it always sends your session requests to the same machine.

If you log in to our site, and click the "Remember Me" option, we place a cookie called R so we can recognize you the next time you access our site and log you in automatically.

We use a cookie called Service Worker to advertise you our Android App if you browse our site from an Android machine.

We use a cookie called EuCookie to know if you have already accepted our cookie policy, so we don’t need to show this message any more.

What can you do about cookies?

It is usually possible to stop your browser accepting cookies, or to stop it accepting cookies from a particular website. However, we cannot tell if you are signed in without using cookies, so you would not be able to purchase tickets or perform any other task that requires registration. Also, information from one page to the next one would get lost, so your experience would be impacted.

All modern browsers allow you to change your cookie settings. You can usually find these settings in the ’options’ or ’preferences’ menu of your browser. To understand these settings, the following links may be helpful, or you can use the ’Help’ option in your browser for more details.
